The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, stressed today, Wednesday, the need to expedite the approval of the budget schedules.
A statement from the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: that “The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, and during the meeting the general conditions in the country and its political, economic and security developments were discussed, and the importance of intensifying efforts between Political forces to resolve important issues related to the needs of citizens and the completion of constitutional entitlements.”
The President stressed according to the statement “the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Presidency of the Republic and the House of Representatives in enacting and legislating important laws,” noting “the necessity of continuing joint work between political forces and approving budget schedules in a way that guarantees the rights of citizens and enhances the process of construction and reconstruction in all governorates.”
The statement added, "Emphasis was placed on maintaining security and stability, improving living conditions, and achieving sustainable development throughout Iraq."
For his part, Al-Mandalawi expressed "his point of view is consistent with the proposals of the President of the Republic regarding the importance of cooperation between the Presidency of the Republic and the House of Representatives, in order to strengthen the oversight and legislative role of the House of Representatives.”
