The Ministry of Interior announced on Friday, the arrest of 118 beggars of Arab and Asian nationalities and the dismantling of prostitution network in the Karrada area in central Baghdad.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior and the Security Media Cell, Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “In a security operation carried out by the details of the Baghdad Al-Rusafa Police Command in a number of hotels in the Karrada area, (118) defendants were arrested Arab and Asian nationalities practiced begging, including (41) children, and a prostitution network consisting of (5) defendants.”
The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, directed on Friday, to deal immediately with emergency cases, detect crimes, prevent them from occurring, and follow up on those wanted by the judiciary.
