Iraqi National Security Service (INSS) announced, on Sunday, the dismantling of a fraud network that deceived citizens to hajj according to fake visas.
INSS in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA ), stated that "based on accurate information received by the Iraqi national security service about the existence of a network of people working in one of the travel and tourism companies who defrauded a number of citizens and provided them with Hajj visas according to fake stays and sold them at high prices under the pretext of the so-called (courtesy Hajj visa), and after an intelligence effort and obtaining judicial approvals, the detachments of the agency were able to locate the accused and arrest some of them".
The statement added that "during the investigation, they admitted collecting the names and passports of more than (20) citizens, and then they traveled a number of them through the airports ( Baghdad - Beirut - Riyadh), where their departure was based on false stays, and after detection, the travelers were returned and then booked for a temporary period in Lebanon and then sent to Iraq, which caused them financial and psychological damage”.
" NISS detachments continue to pursue all those involved in this operation and other fraud cases" ,calling on "citizens not to communicate or deal and be dragged behind the weak souls and fictitious offices for fear of falling victim to such acts and to make sure the relevant authorities", the statement continued.
